New Movies in 2022

Whether you're looking for new movies to watch with the family or for a night out, there are some great options out there. From the further sequels to Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Lyle Lyle Crocodile and The Lost King to the new movies 2022, there's something for everyone!

Sonic the Hedgehog 2

Those who are fans of the Sonic franchise may be excited to hear that there's a sequel coming in 2022. The upcoming movie, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, is based on the Sega franchise and stars Jim Carrey and Adam Pally. The film is set to release on April 8 in the US and March 30 in Europe.

The main focus of the movie is the relationship between Tails and Sonic. While the first movie features a more personal grudge between Sonic and Robotnik, the sequel has a more somber tone.

Spinning Round

Several of the most anticipated new movies of 2022 are already in the works. Here's a look at some of them. The big question is, how much will these films cost? The price tag is estimated at around $50 million, a far cry from the several hundred million budgets it took to get the likes of Jurassic World off the ground. The film's plotline will center on six soldiers sent on a covert mission to transport a mysterious package.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Using the Marvel Comics character Wanda Maximoff, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is a sequel to the original Doctor Strange (2016). In this follow-up, Doctor Strange battles multiple threats. He travels through a mysterious multiverse, where he meets a teenage girl who can travel through multiple universes.

The original Doctor Strange introduced a distinctive character who has a very distinct personality. This character is very much a part of the Marvel franchise and is a significant character in the comics.

Wednesday Addams

Previously, the Wednesday Addams movie and television franchise featured the likes of Christina Ricci, Lisa Loring, Chloe Grace Moretz, and more. This year, the franchise is moving in a darker direction with new movies and a spinoff series.

The upcoming Wednesday series is directed by Tim Burton. This project began as a stop-motion animation project in 1991 but has since moved on to a live-action series. Tim Burton's style of filmmaking is known for its dark aesthetic. He's also known for his films Edward Scissorhands and Batman Returns. The first teaser trailer was released in August of 2022. The trailer gives fans a glimpse of what Wednesday will be like in this live-action series.

Aquaman 2

Initially, the Aquaman sequel was set to hit theaters on December 16, 2022. However, the movie was pushed back to December 25, 2023. This could be a blessing in disguise for Aquaman fans. It could be a sign that the sequel is actually being made.

Aside from the rescheduled release date, the Aquaman 2 movie has suffered numerous delays. This was due to delays with the film's post-production VFX processing time. It was also pushed back due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Lyle Lyle Crocodile and The Lost King

Described as a family musical comedy, Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile is based on the children's book by Bernard Warber. It is a live-action movie with computer-generated imagery. It is the first of several films to be released by Sony Pictures Entertainment.

The story follows Josh Primm, a young boy who finds a singing crocodile in the attic of his house. The crocodile's owner, Hector P. Valenti, is a magician who takes the crocodile on magic shows. He also trains the crocodile to sing. He hopes to wow the crowds.

Ticket to Paradise

Ticket to Paradise is a romantic comedy starring Julia Roberts, George Clooney, and Billie Lourd. The story follows two divorced parents, David (Clooney) and Georgia (Roberts), who decide to take their daughter, Lily (Kaitlyn Dever), to Bali for her wedding.

When David and Georgia learn that Lily is getting married to a seaweed farmer named Gede (Maxime Bouttier), they decide to stop the wedding and plan a fake marriage for Lily. But they soon find that their plan isn't as easy as they thought it would be.

Jordan Peele's FRESH

Despite the fact that Jordan Peele's latest is not a direct sequel to Get Out, the two movies share some similarities. For instance, both films deal with societal issues like racism and sexism. However, Fresh offers a unique take on the subject.

Fresh is an ambitious film that uses horror as a vehicle to examine societal misogyny and other societal ills. This is a big deal since horror is often criticized for depicting African Americans as the first to fall victim to a deadly killer.
